Yanaka, Old world Tokyo walking and tour

Yanaka is an old school district not far from Ueno where the leafy streets maintain their shitamchi atmosphere harking back to the Tokyo of years gone by. Its nostalgic charm is a far cry from the skyscrapers and neon of the modern metropolitan city. The area is famous for its peaceful cemetery which houses the tomb of the last Shogun, its old world shopping street, its galleries and temples and its cats.
